The second year of the programme begins with the nine-month Thesis Project, when students will work on applied research at the location of one of our partnering multinational food companies.
The programme concludes with two short courses on Special Topics at Wageningen University.
All courses can be found in the Study Handbook of Wageningen University.
* Course content may change – this information is intended to provide a sense of material covered
The specific content of the special topics courses is determined each year by the programme partners, intending to bring insight into current issues in the context of its importance to the overall food industry.
Two topics have been selected for this year’s programme:
A one-week course providing insight into the background and principles of Food Law. In particular, food safety and incident management as well as labelling will be addressed.
Sustainability Analysis in Food and Bio-based Production
This one-week course will provide instruments for both evaluation and design of sustainable process systems, analysing food and bio-production systems for efficient usage of raw materials, energy, water and other utilities, from the large-scale supply chain and factory level down to the product and unit operation level.
